Study in the UK or Ireland
The biggest selection of programs in English can, of course, be found in Europe’s English speaking countries England, Wales, Scotland or Ireland. The UK has 16 universities ranking among the top 100 in the world. Here you can take Study Abroad-semesters, Bachelor Degrees and Masters.
Most of the high ranking UK universities are located in England. Twenty years ago universities were almost free here but since then the tuition fees have increased a lot and England now has the highest average tuition fees in Europe. However, the fees are still lower than in the US, especially if you consider that a Bachelor’s Degree in the UK (excluding Scotland) usually only takes three years so you save a full year of college tuition. This is because university programs in Europe usually have a more narrow focus than in the US. On the other hand, you might need to take some APs or IB courses or a foundation course to meet the entry requirements of an English university.
